As often as not, the challenges around in-house leadership recruiting come not from finding top talent at a senior level, but from managing our internal leaders.

In our ESIX: Executive Search Information Exchange Leaders-Only session last week, we discussed how to manage some of our business leaders inconsistent recruiting and interview practices. We talked about how their behavior can seriously impact candidate experience sometimes through sheer disrespect, but most likely though ordinary thoughtlessness. It is often surprising how lacking in talent market awareness our business leaders can be, which means it is our job to educate them on the realities of the market in a way they understand.

These challenges are sometimes built into the company culture too, which makes them harder to change, but all the more rewarding when we do!
